campaign for
change

With the signing of the American Beer Act into law by Governor Kehoe in 2025, your Guild’s Legislative Task Force successfully advocated for a reduction in the state excise tax on beer—from $0.06 to $0.02 per gallon.

That’s a savings of $1.24 per barrel brewed for your business.

The Missouri Craft Brewers Guild is asking its member breweries to consider voluntarily contributing $.24 per barrel of your state excise tax savings toward continued lobbying efforts and statewide marketing and promotion.

By contributing the “small change” in your tax savings, you still see a net savings of $1.00 per barrel while reinvesting in the future of your business and our industry.

Contribution summary

Thanks to the passage of the American Beer Act, Missouri’s craft breweries are now saving $1.24 per barrel on state excise taxes. That’s real money staying in your brewery.

Now, we’re asking you to consider reinvesting a small portion of those savings back into the Guild—so we can keep fighting for your business and promoting your craft.

Your voluntary contribution ensures the Guild remains a strong, unified voice in Jefferson City and beyond. Join us in shaping the next chapter of Missouri craft beer.

Calculate Your Contribution

Participating in the Campaign for Change is simple.

Determine Your Monthly Production

  • Identify the total number of barrels of beer brewed during the month.

  • Multiply your total monthly barrels by $0.24.

Formula:

Total Barrels Brewed × $0.24 = Monthly Contribution

Example:

  • 50 barrels brewed × $0.24 = $12 contribution

  • 100 barrels brewed × $0.24 = $24 contribution

  • 250 barrels brewed × $0.24 = $60 contribution

3% Cover the Fee

This is a voluntary contribution based on your brewery's total state excise tax savings of $1.24 per barrel starting in 2026. Please consult your accountant to determine any tax benefits for your company. The Guild is a 501(c)(6) organization.

This is a voluntary contribution—but it’s a vital one.

With your participation, we can continue to build on this legislative success
and make Missouri one of the most brewery-friendly states in the country.

Together, we are stronger—and our shared voice is making real change.
